Steam Control

You need steam on your flat iron to get rid of heavy crinkles. Sometimes you need even full steam to get the result you want. Finding the right balance of steam, heat and coolness seems to be one of the most difficult things in life.
Usually I try to avoid creating to much steam. Yes, I know, some of my friends would not agree to this statement but in my humble opinion I'm not too steam focused.

I started thinking about turning the steam level to maximum from time to time like on the photo. How the heck can you request that the loud busy world understands you if you don't steam your desires into it's face?

Belly Bumpers

I seem to be surrounded by fertility. Although it's beyond my imagination that a complete human being can exist inside a female belly those to specimen somehow reminded me of bumper cars - bumper bellies in this case.
No, you don't have to ask - I'm not involved at all.

Tuomi

Tuomi

Jazz for a change.
Usually I listen to loud Rock music but this time it was smooth jazzy stuff.
The German trio was called Tuomi and the female singer had a absolutely stunning voice.
I was a little reluctant in shooting photos because it was so quit that I feared the shutter noise of my camera could annoy the band.
Probably my next concert will be loud and sweaty again but I liked Tuomi a lot and it was a very nice first concert of my musical 2008.

Twentyone24 - Two More Hours And a Guest Book

udo_1300_004

I published two more hours (1 PM - 3 PM) of the photo project Twentyone24 from Daniel and me.
This time it's about the most boring hours of the day and about being almost asleep.

In addition I programmed a simple guest book and it would be cool if you could use it for giving us tons of feedback.

Slow Motion Brunch

Click on photo to view it in different sizes on my Flickr account

Some things have to be slow and long. Having brunch on a Sunday is one of them for me.
I really love sitting in a Café, sipping a hot beverage, eating slowly and chatting with some friends for hours and hours.
For me it's great to surf through dozends of different topics without thinking about whether it makes perfect sense or not.
Here is a small selection of topics from today's brunch:

Low pressure in the space suit of the geman astronaut Thomas Reiter
T-Shirts with the message "Kill Flocke" (Flocke is the name of an ice bear baby in Nuremberg)
Euphoric feelings in the pump chamber in an flooded query in 25m depth
Being sharp on time
Copyrights
Hillary Clinton vs. Barak Obama
6-piece-puzzles
The hairdresser appointments of Jürgen Klinsmann (the former couch of the German national soccer team)
Meeting the bodyguards of our Chancellor Angela Merkel
The position of Bill Clinton's brain

Winter Sleep

Click on photo to view it in different sizes on my Flickr account

Still in the middle of the hibernation months. All grey and dark. Sometimes I think about skipping the winter by napping a few months until the noise of growing fresh green and the scent of melted soil wakes me up. Luckily these thoughts usually only lasts a few moments. I guess I would miss hell of a lot smiling moments.
Believe it or not: One can even smile in complete darkness. Sometimes even while sleeping.

The furry animal has indeed something to do with the winter around me. That's why:
Winter Hood

The first photo is my contribution to the task "The Weather" of my Flickr group "Project: Glimpse".
The challenge was to make a weather related photo without having the sky on it.

Every Heart is a Revolutionary Cell

Click on photo to view it in different sizes on my Flickr account

This Photo is about resolutions for my new year.
I want to force myself to listen more intensely to the wild part of my heart. This may sound pathetic and probably it is. I'm convinced that life can be more real if you let your revolutionary heart getting control from time to time.

The photo was created while painting the new apartment of a friend. He wanted one wall in red and I couldn't prevent myself from painting some words on it. The text is inspired by the German movie "Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei" (the fat years are over);.

Painting the red heart on my body was a bit more silly because I had no idea whether I would be able to wash away the color afterwards. Luckily it worked.

Twentyone24 - The First 10 Hours Are Online Now

Hey folks, I'm proud to announce that the first 10 hours of my photo experiment called "Twentyone24" are online now.
Please click to www.twentyone24.de to see photos and some thoughts of my Dec. 21st.

The day was great and a real highlight of my personal 2007. Many thanks to Daniel for being my fellow photographer on this day.

It's more work than I thought it would be to prepare the photos and the texts. In the next days I'll add the missing hours.

It has to be said that at the moment the texts are in german language only. After I finished all texts I'll try to translate the site into English.

Second Zero

OK 2008, let's say it straight forward: I wanna make friends with you. I'm pretty sure that you and I will have a lot of fun together and if you not prevent me from doing it I will step forward trying to find small and bigger pieces of happyness.
Warm welcomes,
Udo

My start into 2008 was relaxed and not really spectacular. I layed on my bed (with all clothes on), stared through the view finder of my camera to my radio controlled clock. Goal was to make a photo of the first second of 2008.

The first day of 2008 ended really good. Like last year I attended an open air cinema. Every year on New Year's Day there is a movie shown under a bridge in Nuremberg. You can stand beside a burning barrel, sipping a hot drink and eating gingerbread. This year the movie was "The Kid" with Charlie Chaplin.
